Quality Engineer

Position Summary & Duties:
The Quality Engineer position is a direct-hire position working for an industrial minerals Client in the Vidalia, LA / Natchez, MS area.
Reporting to the Quality Superintendent, the Quality Engineer supports the development, implementation, monitoring and documentation of Client's Quality Management System plantwide.
This position interfaces with Production, Process, Laboratory, Maintenance and Administrative functions to ensure QMS aspects are in place and effective, sustaining Quality program.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
1.
Build and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure that Client delivers high quality products.
2.
Maintain ISO9001 Certification.
3.
Develop and implement processes, controls, systems, etc to improve efficiency and eliminate waste.
4.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis and generate appropriate reports/documentation.
5.
Design and implement policies and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met duringproduction.
6.
Define and oversee sampling frequency procedures.
7.
Develop, implement, and maintain an Audit Program for the site to assure process compliance tostandards, in a continuous basis.
8.
Responsible for the detection of quality variances and assure QMS complies with customers' QualityManuals.
9.
Develop and implement all Quality tools (SIPOC, PPCP, PPAP, Risk Matrix, PDCA, RCA, etc) to supportCritical Processes are In Control and Capable.
10.
Ensure that established manufacturing inspection, sampling and statistical process control procedures arefollowed.
11.
Assures compliance with corporate Safety, Health & Environmental rules, policies, and procedures.
12.
Contributes to site EHS and ESG performance by engaging and working collaboratively at all levels.
13.
Works very closely and effectively with functional teams to ensure Client meet customers' expectations.
14.
Develops and revises standard operational procedures and working practices, i.
e.
, standard work.
15.
Control calibration status and reliability for all Laboratory equipment.
16.
Assure Lab practices comply with Standards.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND
Experience:
1.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Engineering.
2.
2
years of previous experience in a quality engineering role, preferably within the Chemical Manufacturing (or related)industry.
3.
Working knowledge of ISO, ASTM standards and test method.
4.
Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment is a plus.
5.
Candidates that are local to the Vidalia, LA or Natchez, MS area preferred.
