Process Engineer

Position Summary & Duties:
The Process Engineer position is a direct-hire position working for an industrial minerals client in the Vidalia, LA area.
Reporting to the Process Superintendent, the Process Engineer's role is to assist with circuit optimization, process developmentstrategy and the development of the QA/QC program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
1.
Assist with day to day troubleshooting of issues encountered in the production facility unit operations.
2.
Assist with the ongoing optimization of plant processes and procedures including process control strategies.
3.
Assist with the definition, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of operating procedures for the dry and wet endoperating areas of the VAM production facility.
4.
Assist with the development of safe operating practices for all plant chemicals and potential airborne hazards.
5.
Assist with the development and implementation of the QA/QC program for the production facility.
6.
Provide technical support to Research & Development projects.
7.
Provide technical support to major maintenance and capital projects8.
Assist with the implementation and management of plant environmental, safety, and health programs9.
Assist with the development of training programs for plant operators and other personnel10.
Report all hazards, incidents and near misses in line with Company policies and procedures.
11.
Undertake daily work area inspections and report / rectify faults or issues to management immediately.
12.
Continually monitor the operation of plant and equipment and ensure the safety of employees.
13.
Ensure activities are aligned with daily / weekly production plans.
14.
Comply with the Company's Policies, operating procedures and Code of Conduct at all times.
Qualifications:
Process Engineer Requirements:
1.
B.
S.
in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering degree required.
2.
2
years of previous experience in a process engineering role, preferably within the Chemical Manufacturing (or related)industry.
3.
Tertiary qualifications in Process / Chemical Engineer (or equivalent).
4.
Proven exposure to and use of safe systems of work - e.
g.
risk management & incident reporting.
5.
Ability to work collaboratively and cohesively with a multicultural and diverse team and ability to influence otherdepartments and senior managers.
6.
Advanced computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
7.
Candidates that are local to the Vidalia, LA or Natchez, MS area preferred.
